3/14 - 3/16 - Spring is here. Still Cold. But still having Hot Fun..

Friday was good, I was silly but it was good. Mistaking the day of an invite I was in Chelsea on Friday when I was actually invited to a dinner party on Saturday. No matter. I simply hung out at Gym bar with my friends and had a few drinks and chatted with DJ Smokey before heading over to Splash around midnight to hang with some more friends. The music was by DJ Max Rodriguez and the place was pretty festive. A nice upbeat party and my friends all seemed to have a good time. Hung out with Russ and the Jimmy, as well as friends Tres, Rob, Rick, Shawn, Dean, Mauricio, Lionel and Garrett. I was out drinking from 8:30 to 2:30am, heading for home around 3:15am. The taxi back to bk was quick and I was able to sleep well. Another party handled and under control. This is why we try and drink on a schedule. Otherwise we would be under the bar or at least being carried out of one. So far I know that my friends don't always know when I seem to have gone beyond and am no longer in full memory of events. Irregardless, that seems to happen rarely and is something I actively work to prevent. Nobody wants to wake up naked and alone (on the street). Or wake up with an ugly person. Or wake up with someone who has attached you to the radiator and is calling their buds to help with your disposal.

Anyway.

Saturday was spent burning CDs. Watching movies and getting ready for my dinner invitation. All cleaned up and ready to head into the city I was able to catch a train transfer to the D and then when it went over the E line, I did not have to transfer but just rode from Bklyn to Chelsea on the same train. One block south and one block east I was eating at Regional Thai with my friends as we regaled each other with tales of parties past and plans for the parties coming up. Ms Beth arrived and we sang our happy B'Day and had our cake (healthy and made of fresh fruit) and made plans to head out. We all went to different spaces. I gifted my newest CDs The Move Mint and Technically Mint and was dropped off on 17th street so I could head into Splash.

I said hi to Derek and once inside I made my way around the bar but did not see anyone I knew for a while. I did say hi to Larry and Garrett and later on Stephanie and Amore as we danced from new hits "Don't Stop the Music", "Everybody Up", and "Beatzz" to classic hits such as "That Sound" and "Love Revolution". Eventually after 4am it was time to move on up or down as it were and head out to another bar making way over to Club Shelter on Varick Street. Cool crowd, the music was ok but I kind of forgot what time it was until I had to head home in the early am. I took the train back to BK and got home safely. Nice job. Good times.

If only I could do as much on Sunday as I do on Saturday night. No matter. Energy cannot be destroyed or created it just goes somewhere else. I will see what comes up with my party energies. A great time will be had by all.

03/08/08 - 03/11/08 - Looking forward, Looking Back

I'm looking forward to spring. I am so over the cold weather. Everything changes and so much stays the same. Its a time of change for my weekends too. Crobar/Mansion is out and now the Alegria is at Webster Hall. Stereo is closed but we are still waiting to see where a Saturday with the guys ends up. This coming Saturday I was going to Splash anyway since I was not looking forward to another visit from Peter Bailey and Richie Santana. I had high hopes for DJ duo the first time they mixed on Saturday but it seemed like more of the same tired Sunday music they played which was just a mashup of beats with no discernible high point or low point just a droning monotone of a party. I wanted to do something else, not just get evicted tho. That was a bit much. But anyway life changes. Clubs change, Parties change and somethings never change.

I will be going to the Black Party. I will be going to Alegria. I will be having fun.

I will not however be taking any more Zyrtec. That stuff hit me 12 hours later like falling off the Staten Island Ferry and hitting my head on the Statue of Liberty. I had slow Sunday so I did not notice the lassitude so much then. But when I decided to take another Zyrtec at 12am before going to bed Monday I doomed my Tuesday to a day in and out of interest in doing what I needed to do. I slept on the Subway. I slept on the PATH train. I didn't miss my stop but I was about to. I got to work and I felt like I was underwater and could not think my way out of a cafeteria at night. I finally told my boss I needed to take a nap or go home. I tried the nap first. I was still lightheaded but then I went to lunch and felt a little bit better with some Mickey D's finished and my blood sugar at a more normal level. I was working at 65% and was able to finish out my day before heading home without going to the gym because I didn't want to pass out on the treadmill and die in a horrible rubber meets the forehead accident.

Any way I'm alive and kicking and going back to my Claritin for now.

Until next time. And next party.

PS. Last Saturday was all that and a bucket of chicken. Even though I did not get into Kiss and Flies and had issues getting home. I woke up safe and sound and with all my money and only missing one light.

Anyway..
