5-12-07 - 2 places to go, 2 much fun 2 with 2 many friends.

Rainy Night, but Party at Mike's. A quick taxi ride over to Manhattan and then a run across the street from Ground Zero (I got dropped off on the wrong side) but a short walk through the rain and I got to hang out with Mike, Russ, the Jimmy and Ty. Met Chun Wei as he decided to go with me to Avalon to meet Rob and Tres and the rest of the crew. Arrived at Avalon right after 12:15, said a quick hello to a busy Derek (who was talking to japanese tourist girls) and headed inside. Said hello to Rob, Tres, Pat, Steve, Rick and Shawn and gave CDs to Cathy and Jose. DJ Roland Belmares was good (both mixes of "Irreplaceable") but the party was mostly empty on the main floor. It appeared to get better around 1am but by 1:50am it had gotten sorta empty again. The Chapel had plenty of people and we danced there a few times while the Spider Club was off limits (security waved us out when I gave the nickel tour). We ended up heading out just after 2am and six of us piling into Rob's ride to head crosstown and uptown (stopping to buy soda and water) on our way over and headed inside of Club Stereo. The place was fully rockin (still no Louis) but DJ Peter Rauhofer had the place going at full swing. From the Deja Vu Dub to his Nelly Furtado mixes, the crowd was totally into it and we kept up the dancing until I finally headed out for some breakfast at 5:36am at the Mickey D's (passing Erica on my way up the block). After a longer than usual wait for my food I headed one block over and hailed another instant taxi. I headed back to BK listening to my gym iPod (the slow songs I saved on there for my rides home) and got back to BK safely.

Sunday I was happy I already had eaten breakfast since there was none to be had at home before heading out for a late lunch to meet the crew at Croxley Ale House in the East Village. Hopstop got me over to Delancey street and heading in the right direction with no issues and the onion burger at the restaurant was good as was the usual conversations with our friends. Then it was time to head back to BK and I car sat for a bit (I still have not mastered city parallel parking) and then headed over to Baskin Robbins for my double vanilla scoop so I could eat ice cream while watching the Soprano's. Another good episode and then an episode of Entourage and the night winds down. Another weekend under wraps.

May 3-5-07 - Music To Die For, On the Dancefloor

Friday Night. The Jimmy came over and played backgammon with Russ while I went next door to help neighbor with her computer. I at least got it out of the box so I could return the next day to connect all of the wires.

We headed out of the house at 11:10 to get to Splash, where they were hosting the Arctic Babylon tour. The place was bright and the music was good. DJ Manny Lehman was laying down the party moving beats. I hung out with Rob and Tres, Sean and Rick as we watched the show and danced to the beats of "Makes me Hot" and "Party People". Russ and I left just before 3:45 and headed back to BK.

Late Night Drama me losing my keys in the Jimmy's car (did not know location of keys yet though) which sets up a return trip to Splash to check with mgmt who did not have my keys and a late night 411 call to locksmith to get us into the house. Then a trip next morning to the locksmith to get copies of all of house keys before a return call from the Jimmy that our keys were found.

A dark beginning to the day but then it was time to go shopping and pick up some soda and dinner foods before returning home and finding out I have destroyed my old laptop (poor 12 in Mac) and then going next door to Neighbor and unboxing neighbor PC and connecting the Tornado via USB so she can transfer files from old to new. After that I went back and rested a bit before having dinner and watched "Layer Cake" (great movie). After movie was over I cleaned up got dressed and made ready to head out. Got into the city by midnight, visited the ATM (1st one in Duane Reade had no cash) on 8th and then made my way over to Club Stereo to see what kind of good night I was going to have.

DJ Paulo brought it. Started nice with "Let the Music Use You Up vs. 8 Letters" . Then let us have it with rerubs of Funky Green Dogs "Body" and Charlotte "Skin", as well as "This is Why You're Here" and totally had us jumping for Offer Nissim and "Be My Boyfriend" (with some extra beats thrown in). Danced with Rob and Tres and Joey and a whole crew of people grooving to the beats that just kept getting better and better. Also spoke to DJ James Anderson and saw DJ Hector Fonseca and DJ Chad Jack all looking over the floor and the crowd feeling it. And it was still pumping after 4:30am for the Rauhofer mix of Offer's "For Your Love". I finally graced a dance floor box at Stereo and danced over the crowd and then returned to the box with both hands lit before finally stepping down before I totally used my legs up. I stayed until 5am and said goodnight to Rob before heading out to get my taxi on 9th ave.
