08/18-08/20 On the Town and Hanging around

Friday I decided to eat light and just had pizza before heading home and getting myself ready to hang out. I ate dinner, haircut, cleaned up and picked out an outfit while watching HD programming on TV. I finally got out of the house before midnight and made my way into the city. Starting late I stopped off at the Pizza place to pick up a bottle of water to drink before heading into Splash. I got a drink downstairs and then said hello to downstairs lounge DJ Brenda Black whom I had first met 2 weeks before. I chatted a bit before leaving before I wore out my welcome and heading upstairs. I hung out with the crowd for a bit before heading back downstairs to go to the bathroom and on my way back I spotted Tres and said hi to him and his friend before heading upstairs to say hello to Rob. They were both heading over to Krash so I told them I would see them tomorrow and wished them a good night. After dancing some I headed outside for some more water at the pizza place and spotted Mike. After we chatted for a bit we wished each other good night and went our separate ways. I did not stay out too much longer as Rob and Tres seemed to have the right idea about Splash dying down a bit too soon this night. (I don't even remember the name of the upstairs DJ) A lot of people have been spending the Friday out in Long Island or other vacation destinations.
I got a taxi and was able to get back home before it was too late and got in a nice deep sleep in preparation for my Saturday.

Saturday I awoke and did different things around the house. Russ returned from Atlantic City and spent most of the late afternoon resting from his Friday Night out. After dinner I got ready, cleaned up and dressed before it was time to go after 11pm. I headed down the street and made my way over to the car service and had a driver pull up in a few minutes to take me into the city. The ride in went through the usual traffic but I got into the city, over to the west side and up to 18th street. I walked up to front of the club and after saying hello to Derek I headed inside Roxy, said hello to Iyesha and then inside. The crowd was slowly filtering in and DJ Hector Fonseca was keeping the crowd on edge with some electro-house before he finally segued into the good songs after 1am. We heard Madonna "Come Together", Hector's own mixes of "Discoteka" and "Sex Secret". The night only got better and I split my time between dancing with Rob and Tres on the dancefloor and times on the stage and the speaker at the high points. I also hung out a bit with Duane at the front bar and got my last drink of the night from Jose before I danced some more on the two speakers in front (had to guard my drink like a hawk as someone actually tried to walk off with it) before 4:50 am rolled around and it was time to head home. I was able to get a taxi right on 18th street and climb in and head on home. The ride home was quick and easy and I got home pretty fast.

Sunday I awoke to delivery breakfast and was able to enjoy a nice slow afternoon before it was time to cook dinner. The previous week I had gone shopping for the fixings for a nice sunday dinner and and after some prep time and cook time it was time for a dinner of eggplant parmigiana and thin spaghetti. Dinner came out great and I was able to put away the leftover eggplant for eating on another day. I spent the evening watching DVR programming and preparing to rest up for the following week. I think the weekend was mostly successful but still have some summer left to look forward to. Next weekend - Road Trip. ( Yay! )
