Friday we were actually convinced to go out. Passes in hand and long weekend ahead it seemed like a good idea. Besides we did not plan on staying all night or anything. The Jimmy arrived around 10:30 and we all left around 11:30 to head into the city and begin the search for parking. We actually found a nice parking space on 18th Street and then walked up the block. Despite the fact that both Russ and the Jimmy forgot which block Deep was on, I did not and led the way over to 22nd street (past Avalon and the McDonalds on 6th Ave) and began our 15 minute wait on the line outside. The weather was downright balmy but I was glad anyway that I wore my coat as it kept me comfortable and patient. The security out front was confusing, first squeezing us into a single line and then a heaving mass. Eventually we made our way inside, past the pat down and ready to make our way to the bar. The place! filled up quickly and despite the only average music, mostly a throwback vibe with a few new tunes by Madonna thrown in we had a good time. I said hello to Sam Champion, Anthony Lamont and our favorite bartender. We watched a show put on by Laritza Dumont (a lipsynch to Kristine W and "Fly Again"). Despite the urging from the Jimmy we leveled off on the drinks and Russ and I left at 3:10am to catch a taxi right out front and head back to Bklyn. The ride was accomplished with no worries and no issues and we arrived alive.
Saturday I woke up before noon but had a nice delivery breakfast before it as time to head into the city and workout. The gym had a fire drill at 3pm so we had some time pressure since we arrived at 2pm but my Saturday workout is somewhat condensed anyway so I was able to get the whole thing finished before they threw us out. We then retrieved the car over on Park Place and Russ ran up to the office to pick up some files. It was fortunate I was in the car as the police came up the block giving out tickets. I moved the car a foot closer to the curb once the space opened up and blasted the CD Player while waiting for Russ to hurry back down. After his return it was time to head back to Brooklyn and pick up some groceries at Pathmark. Some chicken breasts, diet soda, juice and eggs and we were ready to head back home and chill for the afternoon. I had a half a tuna sandwich and promptly passed out on t! he couch. In between waking up at intervals to see what was happening in the NFL I had myself a nice little nap. Once dinner time rolled around about 8pm it was time to order up some Chicken Ceasar Salad and dig in before I had to get ready for the evening. I had put off the haircut until Saturday so it was the full makeover before it was time to clean up and get the outfit on and be ready to step out.
We headed into the city around 11:30 and after finding a nice parking space on 19th street we headed on down and met the crowd waiting at the door of Roxy. After our quick hello to Doorman Derek we were headed on inside and on to cashier and coatcheck. After taking care of the necessary we were greeted by a nicely developing crowd and surprise appearance by our "former" Barman Brett. He was doing well with work and the usual busy stuff and was very happy to see me too. I told him I would have brough my newest CD for him if I had only known but all was forgiven and we headed off in different directions as we prepared to dive into the evening. We also received a surprise visit from Bob who while telling us he was not going to be in to see Junior spin he still ended up coming to tell his friends about his upcoming comedy gig. We talked to him for a bit before I told Russ that it was time for me to go and d! ance. I had a pretty good time up on the speaker before returning back to the bar and picked up some refreshment from Barman Barker. The energy was not as high beat as New Years Eve but Junior made sure we were very happy as the night progressed and despite the absence of all recognizable from previous nights of dancing the beats were nice and tasty. I was dancing on stage and speaker far into the evening and had to rescue Russ from admirers on more than one occasion. We also hung out in the middle of the dancefloor with Andrew before I pulled Russ back out to the crowd periphery. On my final speaker appearances on the two boxes near the front bar I said goodnight to Brett before he headed back out into the crowd and I put on my final dance of the evening before stepping down and letting Russ know it was time to go. I needed something to calm me down though so instead of heading all of the way home we stopped off at the 24 hr Mickey D's and picked up! breakfast sandwiches before heading home. Mmm. Bacon.
Sunday was spent being nice and lazy, watching more football shockers (Patriots lose Saturday, Colts lose on Sunday) and heading out to pick up lunch at Wendy's. I almost forgot to cook dinner but it was all cool as the oven baked herb chicken and the macaroni in garlic sauce came out very nice. I had excess energy but two nights in a row in the city was fine with me and I watched DVR programming and movies and put myself to bed at the weekend reasonable hour of 4am.
Monday was just like Sunday all over again. This time we were free from the clutches of football and instead took the time to visit the storage facility and retrieve the final part to my Moms computer, the CPU and keyboard and mouse. After we picked it up and called to ask her did she want me to bring it we received notice that the fam had cooked chicken parmesan and eggplant parmesan. We were over my mothers house in like 45 minutes. Anyway the dinner was good and we watched episodes of "King of Queeens" in the middle of assembling the hardware and doing the site survey to determine if she could upgrade to XP (inconclusive, I will mail the specs for XP setup to moms tmw). We said our goodnights and headed back to BK around 8:30 and it was time to bring our last long weekend of the month of January to a close.
At least next weekend is in just 4 more days. I will be setting up web hosting for my party pics soon and hope to be able to start posting.
Until next time. Will be staying warm and being cool. Or at least as cool as I wanna be, until the heat starts to rise again..
