03/08/08 - 03/11/08 - Looking forward, Looking Back

I'm looking forward to spring. I am so over the cold weather. Everything changes and so much stays the same. Its a time of change for my weekends too. Crobar/Mansion is out and now the Alegria is at Webster Hall. Stereo is closed but we are still waiting to see where a Saturday with the guys ends up. This coming Saturday I was going to Splash anyway since I was not looking forward to another visit from Peter Bailey and Richie Santana. I had high hopes for DJ duo the first time they mixed on Saturday but it seemed like more of the same tired Sunday music they played which was just a mashup of beats with no discernible high point or low point just a droning monotone of a party. I wanted to do something else, not just get evicted tho. That was a bit much. But anyway life changes. Clubs change, Parties change and somethings never change.

I will be going to the Black Party. I will be going to Alegria. I will be having fun.

I will not however be taking any more Zyrtec. That stuff hit me 12 hours later like falling off the Staten Island Ferry and hitting my head on the Statue of Liberty. I had slow Sunday so I did not notice the lassitude so much then. But when I decided to take another Zyrtec at 12am before going to bed Monday I doomed my Tuesday to a day in and out of interest in doing what I needed to do. I slept on the Subway. I slept on the PATH train. I didn't miss my stop but I was about to. I got to work and I felt like I was underwater and could not think my way out of a cafeteria at night. I finally told my boss I needed to take a nap or go home. I tried the nap first. I was still lightheaded but then I went to lunch and felt a little bit better with some Mickey D's finished and my blood sugar at a more normal level. I was working at 65% and was able to finish out my day before heading home without going to the gym because I didn't want to pass out on the treadmill and die in a horrible rubber meets the forehead accident.

Any way I'm alive and kicking and going back to my Claritin for now.

Until next time. And next party.

PS. Last Saturday was all that and a bucket of chicken. Even though I did not get into Kiss and Flies and had issues getting home. I woke up safe and sound and with all my money and only missing one light.

Anyway..

2/09/08 - Still Going - Going Well In Fact..

So I have been kind of lazy lately.
Distracted even, but I really should not let that stop me from doing something (if not every day well then something fruitful every other day) When I say fruitful I mean something more than just watching DVR episodes of "Most Shocking" on TruTV or Cartoon Network cartoons, or even episodes of "Torchwood" on HDNet. I work and work and then get my fun on during the weekend and the new year has been OK so far.

I get older and wiser and still keep butting up against my limits but I so far have been able to stay well within the realms of my possibilities.

But,
I want to do something momentous this year.
If I don't finish writing my book, or finish a multi-episode screenplay, or even produce an original single, I guess I can pass the time doing some interesting music mash-ups.

In the meantime I have been having fun and talking it out with my friends.

On Wednesday Night 2/6 I stopped in at Gym and ran into Steve and we conversated some about people, places, and things and had a few drinks before it was time to say goodnight and he headed uptown and I headed downtown. I stopped in at Splash (on a Wednesday I know) but I had to use the restroom and it was convenient for me to have one more drink before I made it back to BK. I even stayed awake on the train ride home and got to my house to sleep with no issues (well maybe too much caffeine issues but eventually I did sleep).

I am looking forward to this weekend, so much. I already have made plans to meet up with friends and am endeavoring to rest up some so I can go into my Saturday all sober and ready to get my drink and dance and laugh on Saturday night.

Can't wait..

1/12-1/13 - Saturday Night, was just alright, could have been better

I didn't go out on Friday 1/11. Just stayed home, watched some TV and actually went to bed at a reasonable hour. I woke up in the morning, had delivery breakfast and watched a Blu-Ray of "Shoot 'Em Up" which was actually entertaining and while not a pristine example of HD was still a good showing I was glad I got to see it. The rest of the afternoon I spent listening to music online and finishing up my newest CD, which was a New York flavor of club mix. A short nap in the afternoon and then more time at the computer it was time to get ready to go out. I finally finished printing the CD and made sure to bring one more of the last mix as well.

Russ was downstairs to give me a ride into the city and we listened to the new CD on the way in before I said goodbye to Russ and ejecting the CD so I could bring it with me inside. After saying hello to the door staff and security and cashier and ticket people I was inside Club Stereo. Checked my coat and headed downstairs to the party floor. Of course the crowd at Stereo always shows up late and for the DJs Peter Bailey and Richie Santana (Mind Control) for some reason the party never really got started. We had moments of interesting beats but nothing we could ever hold onto and really get into a dancing groove. I guess the beats they were trying for were of the more hypnotic variety and the kind that got you excited to dance for a while were left by the wayside. I stayed there all kinds of late (until 5am) and still never got to hear any truly "I had a great time" music. There was just over a minute of the Richie Santana Mix of "Walk Away" but there were no vocals to tie the whole thing together. Anyway I still got to give a copy of my new CD "Beta Principle" to DJ Peter Rauhofer and gave a copy of "Endless AfterParty" to DJ Hector Fonseca. The CD giveaway made the time worthwhile even the music was not. However I still got to hang with all of my friends in attendance and look forward to a 3 day weekend next week. It is still all good.

But will not look forward to any Mind Control parties anytime soon.

Saturday it was time to head out to NJ and hang with the family in North Jersey as we said goodbye to Emily and Tommy before they head off to Texas. We had finger sandwiches, chips and dip and some cookies before I gifted them with Adjustable Temp Hot Sauce I picked up on Amazon. We finally headed back to NY around 5:30pm and had a pretty quiet night before heading to bed to start off my new workweek.

Work is work. But I still have plenty of stuff I look forward to for this year. It can only get better.

Keeping it moving. We are good to go.

Jan 5/2008 Weekend - Still Going... Like the Enrgizer Bunny

Still Going.

Still having fun. Not sure I would but it all worked out.
Stayed up late on Friday Night (watched Harry Potter movie and HD programming) at home but woke up to delivery breakfast and then went to the gym in Bklyn.

Worked out, then came back home and chilled out for a while before messing the computer some and then preparing for my night. Had dinner delivered and then did the haircut and cleanup, before donning the outfit for the eve and then passing time choosing music for my next CD. Not too long before heading out around 11:35 with Russ and the Jimmy in the car service ride to NY.

They got out first looking for their club around 29th street while I headed up to 33rd street and got out at Club Stereo, said hi to the doormen and made my way inside. Of course my Visine was confiscated again but I did get to put it in my eyes before heading inside. After coatcheck I made my way to the bar and had my first drink. I took some pics for my myspace and for my iPod Touch (nice gift bought for me) and got ready to have some fun. As soon as I got downstairs I said hello to Joon and saw Tres and Maurice. They felt well enough to come out and hang with the rest of us including Justin and Martha and we all had a pretty good time as the evening progressed. Our DJ was Hector Fonseca who while energetic was spotty in keeping everyone's interest and did not get really good until later on in the eve.

Russ texted that he was on his way over around 3:30am and my crowd got a little bigger before it was time to take our leave. Plenty of good drinks before it was time to step out but I did dance to "Everything You Feel" by Tarot before I finally left for the night. We got into our taxi outside and made our way back to BK and a well deserved rest.

I thought I might take it light after the New Year but you know what. Like they say at the Black and Blue "The Party Needs You" and I've been taking care of myself so I can sustain the hi-intensity of a party night or whole weekend. Every Saturday is another chance to hear or see something new and I get to be with my friends no matter what. The weekends are still on my To-Do list and we will see what happens. I will probably not do any big Holiday weekends (Sunday Nights) until March but we will see.

Keep the Party Working and we will find a beat to ride. It's still all good.

Week of 12/2/07 - To Party or Not to Party. Some Question...

You know me, Almost always ready to go for a good party, especially on a Saturday Night. But sometimes it can be too much. For the body, the wallet, and your home life.

I have plenty of stress at work and really look forward to my weekends. I deserve my fun on the weekends. But sometimes I guess it can be more than is necessary.

Now I'm not going to stop having my fun any time soon. But I may skip a weekend here and there.

I was out this past weekend at Club Stereo and got there at midnight and stayed until 5am. The vibe was right and the feeling was right on that disco night. A very good set from opening DJ Cajjmere Wray (diff. mix of Kim English and "Everyday") And a great set as always from DJ Hector Fonseca who makes a party jump and doesn't ever seem to peak but just get better and better without seguing into a tribal/trance overdo trying to wring the last bit of life out of the party. I like my parties uplifting and fun and thats what we got last weekend. I am pretty sure I am going out next weekend (2 days from now) too. But we will see. Maybe I will take off next week and be ready for the 2 Holiday weekends at the end of the month. We are going to party like its 2099, or something like that.

No matter what I will be having fun with my friends. Is a good time to be out and about.
