1/12-1/13 - Saturday Night, was just alright, could have been better

I didn't go out on Friday 1/11. Just stayed home, watched some TV and actually went to bed at a reasonable hour. I woke up in the morning, had delivery breakfast and watched a Blu-Ray of "Shoot 'Em Up" which was actually entertaining and while not a pristine example of HD was still a good showing I was glad I got to see it. The rest of the afternoon I spent listening to music online and finishing up my newest CD, which was a New York flavor of club mix. A short nap in the afternoon and then more time at the computer it was time to get ready to go out. I finally finished printing the CD and made sure to bring one more of the last mix as well.

Russ was downstairs to give me a ride into the city and we listened to the new CD on the way in before I said goodbye to Russ and ejecting the CD so I could bring it with me inside. After saying hello to the door staff and security and cashier and ticket people I was inside Club Stereo. Checked my coat and headed downstairs to the party floor. Of course the crowd at Stereo always shows up late and for the DJs Peter Bailey and Richie Santana (Mind Control) for some reason the party never really got started. We had moments of interesting beats but nothing we could ever hold onto and really get into a dancing groove. I guess the beats they were trying for were of the more hypnotic variety and the kind that got you excited to dance for a while were left by the wayside. I stayed there all kinds of late (until 5am) and still never got to hear any truly "I had a great time" music. There was just over a minute of the Richie Santana Mix of "Walk Away" but there were no vocals to tie the whole thing together. Anyway I still got to give a copy of my new CD "Beta Principle" to DJ Peter Rauhofer and gave a copy of "Endless AfterParty" to DJ Hector Fonseca. The CD giveaway made the time worthwhile even the music was not. However I still got to hang with all of my friends in attendance and look forward to a 3 day weekend next week. It is still all good.

But will not look forward to any Mind Control parties anytime soon.

Saturday it was time to head out to NJ and hang with the family in North Jersey as we said goodbye to Emily and Tommy before they head off to Texas. We had finger sandwiches, chips and dip and some cookies before I gifted them with Adjustable Temp Hot Sauce I picked up on Amazon. We finally headed back to NY around 5:30pm and had a pretty quiet night before heading to bed to start off my new workweek.

Work is work. But I still have plenty of stuff I look forward to for this year. It can only get better.

Keeping it moving. We are good to go.

Jan 5/2008 Weekend - Still Going... Like the Enrgizer Bunny

Still Going.

Still having fun. Not sure I would but it all worked out.
Stayed up late on Friday Night (watched Harry Potter movie and HD programming) at home but woke up to delivery breakfast and then went to the gym in Bklyn.

Worked out, then came back home and chilled out for a while before messing the computer some and then preparing for my night. Had dinner delivered and then did the haircut and cleanup, before donning the outfit for the eve and then passing time choosing music for my next CD. Not too long before heading out around 11:35 with Russ and the Jimmy in the car service ride to NY.

They got out first looking for their club around 29th street while I headed up to 33rd street and got out at Club Stereo, said hi to the doormen and made my way inside. Of course my Visine was confiscated again but I did get to put it in my eyes before heading inside. After coatcheck I made my way to the bar and had my first drink. I took some pics for my myspace and for my iPod Touch (nice gift bought for me) and got ready to have some fun. As soon as I got downstairs I said hello to Joon and saw Tres and Maurice. They felt well enough to come out and hang with the rest of us including Justin and Martha and we all had a pretty good time as the evening progressed. Our DJ was Hector Fonseca who while energetic was spotty in keeping everyone's interest and did not get really good until later on in the eve.

Russ texted that he was on his way over around 3:30am and my crowd got a little bigger before it was time to take our leave. Plenty of good drinks before it was time to step out but I did dance to "Everything You Feel" by Tarot before I finally left for the night. We got into our taxi outside and made our way back to BK and a well deserved rest.

I thought I might take it light after the New Year but you know what. Like they say at the Black and Blue "The Party Needs You" and I've been taking care of myself so I can sustain the hi-intensity of a party night or whole weekend. Every Saturday is another chance to hear or see something new and I get to be with my friends no matter what. The weekends are still on my To-Do list and we will see what happens. I will probably not do any big Holiday weekends (Sunday Nights) until March but we will see.

Keep the Party Working and we will find a beat to ride. It's still all good.
